How To Get Rid Of Spots Quick

Today we are going to look further at how to get rid of spots quick. Although true acne treatment is a lengthy process that can take many months to achieve the best results, there are a few little tricks you can use to minimize the appearance of spots in very little time. None of these treatments require hugely expensive products either, so for very few dollars you can do a lot to improve your appearance and get rid of acne symptoms quickly.

1. You must avoid squeezing or picking at acne. This inflames the spots and the area around them, and makes everything look a thousand times worse. Remember that people aren't going to judge you too harshly for a few pimples here and there, but it still pays dividends not to draw undue attention to them (if only so you feel confident) Squeezing or picking at pimples makes them look a lot worse than they would otherwise appear. It may seem counter-intuitive, but you really just want to keep your hands off if you want to get rid of spots quickly.

2. Use an astringent or drying agent. My personal recommendation is to get a small tube of either 5 or 10% benzoyl peroxide. Be very judicious with your use of it, however, and make sure you apply it only to the individual lesion itself, and not the surrounding area of skin. Also, protracted use of a powerful astringent is going to cause a lot of dry skin, and could even lead to permanent damage. However, if you really need to get rid of a pimple fast then you can use it as an emergency treatment. I would advise against the use of hydrogen peroxide, as that is very damaging to the skin. If you want a natural alternative then you can use lemon juice as an acne treatment. Not only is it cheap, but it is much less damaging to your skin over the long term.

3. Use a concealment product. If you are a girl then you probably already have some form of suitable concealer lying around somewhere. A gentle application will do much to take the edge off the symptoms and visibility of spots. However, if you are guy then things can be a little bit more tricky. There are some discreet concealers that blend quite well with male skin, but the secret is to avoid using too much or it will be very clear that you are basically using make up. You're probably going to get more 'funny glances' for visibly wearing makeup than you would for having a few pimples, so don't stress it too much.

4. Hide the spots with clothing or accessories. What is the quickest way to get rid of spots? Hiding them, of course. If you are prone to spots on your neck then wear a shirt or jacket with a high collar, or maybe a scarf if the weather is cold enough. Guys, if you can grow facial hair rapidly then this can be a very easy way of hiding spots. Just be careful, as facial hair can lead to further spots, and also shaving it all off is probably going to lead to a bit of razor burn. The secret to hiding your spots with clothing or other things is to be subtle and blend in- if you put on a big woolly scarf in the middle of summer questions are going to be raised, and this will make you feel even more self-conscious.

5. Don't stress out. Being stressed is one of the worst things you can do for your skin, and it will actually lead to further spots. There is a solid link between stress levels and a worsening of acne symptoms, so relax! Billions of people suffer, or have suffered from acne, so very few people are going to judge you harshly. Instead, step out and be confident in your own skin and don't let the problem crush your confidence. By being happier in your own skin you will stress less, and this will lead to an improvement in the condition of your skin.

The above five steps will help you to get rid of spots quick. Although there is no real overnight solution to acne, you can do a lot to calm the symptoms of bad skin and pimples. However, if you want to treat your acne permanently then you need to cure the problem from the inside out.
